How It Works

We're excited to help you get started with everything you need to know. Whether you're looking to join a team, find the perfect gear, or learn about the roles of becoming a team captain, we've got you covered!

What Happens When You Join?

We have onboarded over 4500 players, 200 teams and captains and understand that everyone has questions. Joining something new can be overwhelming. So here is run down of some of the common questions we receive. Have a look through and come back to the top to hit join! We cant wait to have you onboard.

Join as an individual

Register online using our form. Once a league is confirmed or a space becomes available, we’ll contact you via text or WhatsApp. This may take a few weeks, but please know we will get back to you.

Upon confirmation, we'll place you in a WhatsApp group with other potential teammates if it is a new team. Or pass your details to a captain of an existing team.

Everyone starts as a beginner; if you’d like to try rounders before joining a team, you can also look out for our taster sessions via MyRounders Academy through Eventbrite.

In your What’s App group, you’ll need to engage with other people to try and get to know each other. Once there are six or seven in the group, you’ll all be asked to think of a team name, choose a logo, and vote for a volunteer captain to get the team started.

Join as a team

Register online using our form. As soon as a league is confirmed to start or a team space becomes available, you will remain on our waiting list, and we will contact you as soon as we can.

As a captain, you'll be put into a captain's WhatsApp group, where we share all the 'important to know stuff', like registering your teammates, paying, and checking the rules.

What to wear

You definitely don’t need any team kit to get started. Come and see if you like it first. If you’ve joined a team, they may have a spare shirt. If you are a new team, then hold fire, maybe, and see who from the team sticks around and likes it.

If you’re really keen, though, feel free to organise a team kit. Don’t forget to check out MyRounders Kits here.

Training

MyRounders organises and runs the leagues; we do not provide coaching or training. However, many teams organise their own training and often ask other teams to join them. New teams have found that really useful for learning the game quicker and getting their eye in.

Other captains will share their training days on our dedicated FB group chat page that you can join or within the captains WhatsApp group for your league.

Still have questions?

Here's a quick run through of some thoughts you might be having, have a read through and if theres anything else you'd like to know then check out our other FAQs, or get in touch directly directly below.

  • Who can play and how many in a team?

So, we have mixed leagues and 'womens' leagues only and just recently we've added 'mens' leagues only.

You have to be aged 16+ and our current oldest player is 74, rounders truly is for everyone.

There's 9 in a team, a squad of 12 and you can register as many players as you like to cover holidays etc.

*If you are playing mixed then it is a maximum of 2 men playing at any one time.

  • I haven't played since school, will I be alright?

Absolutely, we all loved rounders in school right? and sure its been a while but just like riding a bike it'll all come flooding back to you.

We have MyRounders Champions and League Coordinators that meet you at the venue, we also have awesome umpires that'll help you through your games the first few weeks.

Our community has grown into a thriving hub of supportive people and everyone remembers their first night, so will be on hand to welcome you too.

  • How much will it cost?

Teams have the opportunity to pay 3 ways, weekly, by half season in advance and by full season in advance.

Depending on this and how your team decides to pay and play, it will cost somehwere between £4.10 and £6.11 a week.

  • Help me remember some of the rules

Take your bat with you, no more throwing them at your teacher because the school only has 1 bat!

Run outside of the bases, and if you're make 2nd you'll get a half rounder and if you get to fourth and touch the base before being stumped you'll score your rounder!

You cant get much wrong if you step up to bat, swing and run! The umpires will do the rest.

  • What should I bring to my first match?

Check with your captain or our onboarding manager (Whats app link in the menu, speak to Claire shes waiting to hear from you) if your venue requires you to wear specific shoes.

Bring a water bottle and a smile. Everything you need is provided inclusing bats, balls, bases, posts, umpires and your opposition!

Turn up 15 minutes at least earlier to catch a game thats being played before you, see what its all about!

If you're not due to play for a couple of weeks, then come down to your league and watch what goes on, you're always welcome.

  • I really dont feel like I can come on my own or start playing straight away?

We understand that, it can be daunting learning a new skill and meeting new people.

    1. You could nag your best mate to join too and sign up together?
    2. You could attend a taster and try holding a bat again or catching a ball again.
    3. You could check out a venue first and see what its all about
    4. Or you could think stuff it, I will trust that the community is fab and just sign up and turn up! Trust that Ill be in safe hands.
